Webinar: Idiopathic Neuropathy with Norman Latov, MD, PhD

This webinar covers idiopathic neuropathy, its definition and diagnosis. During this program, Dr. Latov explains how to tell if it’s progressive and what do if it keeps getting worse. Dr. Latov also talks about when to consider undergoing a nerve and muscle biopsy and what might those tests show, as well as reviewing some off label or experimental therapies and also evaluating alternative therapies. The session ends with a Q&Q discussion.

About Dr. Latov
Norman Latov, MD, PhD, is Professor of Neurology at Weill Cornell Medicine and the New York Presbyterian Hospital, where he also served as Director of the Peripheral Neuropathy Research and Clinical Center, and prior to that at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University. His laboratory is credited with the discovery of anti-MAG and GM1 ganglioside antibodies in neuropathy and for developing diagnostic tests for these antibodies in clinical practice. He also served as founding Board member and Clinical and Research Director of the Neuropathy Association that was subsequently absorbed into the Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy, and was partner in Therapath LLC, a neuromuscular pathology laboratory, that was acquired by Inform Diagnostics. He has over 200 publications, including research papers, reviews, editorials, chapters and books, and is the author of “Explaining Neuropathy; Symptoms, Diagnosis and Treatment… or When the Pain Won’t Stop,” for people with neuropathy and their family and friends.
